HIGHBURY STADIUM - HOME OF ARSENAL (1913-2006)

Opened: 1913
Closed: 2006
Capacity: 38,419
Established: 1886

Arsenal Stadium, known universally by its original name of Highbury, was Arsenal’s home for 93 years, from its opening in 1913 until the Club moved to Emirates Stadium in 2006.

The Highbury era was the most successful period in Arsenal’s history to date, with 13 league titles including the ‘Invincible’ season (2003/04), as well as major successes in cup competitions.

Upon the conclusion of the 2005/06 season, Arsenal moved to Emirates Stadium and the iconic Highbury was transformed into a residential development, Highbury Square. The East and West Stands remain due to their listed status.
